Many of us have experienced the sight of a football match first hand. Looking around you and seeing thousands watching the same action unfold. The lush green of the pitch and the vibrant boots. That moment when you see your team breach the penalty area, you instinctively rise to your feet and the jubilation of your team scoring is matched by the vision of thousands of arms flailing in the air.
But how can someone who cannot see, or has limited sight, experience this?
My radio documentary will talk to those at the heart of the issue, from visually impaired fans to AD commentators. I aim to uncover the human impact that the service can have for people who just want to enjoy a football match like everybody else. I also wish to talk to clubs who don't provide the service and delve into why that is.
Throughout this process, I will upload to this blog my findings as well as some extra 'behind the scenes' features, before my eventual 7-minute documentary is complete.
